Butte Woman Scammed While Trying to Purchase Monkey Online

Erika Fleury February 02, 2015

A Butte, Montana woman got caught up in some monkey business last week.

She told police on Sunday that she sent a $140 moneygram to Florida in exchange for a live monkey after seeing the animal for sale online.

The sellers told her that the monkey would arrive on a plane, but when the plane arrived, Curious George was nowhere to be found.

The woman contacted the sellers, who demanded another $400. The woman, apparently driven bananas, decided that she’d had enough and contacted police.
