We’ve had another great Member Event! With over 420 visitors, this year’s event was a real success! Guests were shuttled down to the sanctuary where they had the opportunity to visit our gift shop, bid on items in our silent auction, purchase raffle tickets for a chance to win exciting prizes, grab refreshments or a snack from the concessions and, most importantly, witness the gift of sanctuary first hand.

We are always so excited for our members to witness how their donations provide nearly 50 primates with a lifetime of sanctuary. As members toured the Primate Rescue Center, volunteers, interns and staff members were there to answer any and all questions about the primates – their personalities, what sort of enrichment they enjoy, their favorite treats and where they were rescued from are a few of the frequently discussed topics.

We were thrilled to see lots of interest in our Primate Pal program. We had a record-breaking day with 10 Pals registered at the event! Over the next year, our new Pals will get to know one of the PRC’s residents via frequent updates and cute photographs while supporting their daily sanctuary care through a symbolic adoption. We are so excited for monkeys Cysgo, Junior, George, Norman, Bailey and Jax who received their first Primate Pals!

The gift shop was a big hit this year with tons of PRC souvenirs up for grabs. Although this was the one time a year that our entire gift shop is available for sale, keep an eye on our Facebook page for more opportunities to purchase unique PRC merchandise! The Silent Auction had over 30 items up for grabs and 9 lucky raffle winners took home amazing prizes!

The concessions stayed busy as hungry and thirsty patrons visited for refreshments. It was a hot day this year, and we hope that all members took advantage of the free water station, shaded tent areas and fans!

We’d like to recognize two outstanding corporations that made our 2019 Annual Member Event possible. To our Silver Monkey Sponsor, Central Bank, and our Bronze Gibbon Sponsor, the Hayden Company, thank you so much for contributing to our event costs. Without your generosity, it wouldn’t have been possible for 100% of the funds raised on event day to go directly to the apes and monkeys. We greatly appreciate your support!

So many hands went into making this day possible. We must thank our dedicated team of volunteers, without whom we simply could not have done it. The volunteers endured the humid weather with smiles on their faces to help us make the event one of the best yet – thank you all! We would also like to thank and recognize our fantastic members for showing your support to the sanctuary and our cause with your presence and your donations. We truly can’t thank you enough and we hope to see you again next year!
