The PRC Volunteer Program

The Primate Rescue Center relies on the hard work and dedication of volunteers to help ensure that our residents get the high quality care they deserve and that our organization functions efficiently. Our volunteers must appreciate that our residents are not pets, are not used for invasive research, are not for sale or adoption, and do not benefit from exposure to the general public. Our website will help familiarize you with our history and mission, and give you some sense of the vital role that volunteers play in our day-to-day operations.

Volunteer Opportunities
On-site Off-site Out-of-town

Are you...

  • At least 18 years old?
  • Living in the local area?
  • Willing to attend weekly training sessions?
  • Able to commit to at least 4 hours a week?
  • Seeking a long-term volunteer commitment?

You may qualify for our On-Site Volunteer program!

Are you...

  • Under 18 years old?
  • Unable to make a regular time commitment?
  • Willing to represent the PRC at special events?
  • Interested in doing at-home projects to benefit our residents?
  • A professional who would like to offer your services to the PRC?

You may be perfect for our Off-Site Volunteer Program!

Are you...

  • At least 18 years old?
  • Living more that 100 miles away, or in another country?
  • Able to commit to work at least four continuous 40-hour weeks?
  • Able to lift 50 pounds and engage in strenuous physical activity?
  • In need of housing during your time with us?
  • Able to provide your own housing, or pay a housing fee of $100/week?
  • An RV owner who can bring his/her own housing but requires hook-ups?
  • Burned out from your white collar job and looking for an interesting place to spend a sabbatical?

You may qualify for our Out-of-Town Volunteer program!

Please note: Applications are accepted year-round, but new on-site volunteers are scheduled only between March 1 and October 31.
